Todd Watts London Armoury De-farbed Enfield

The London Armoury Co. produced P53s rank among the fi nest infantry arms imported to the US and CS during the Civil War years.

Although there were many commercial gun-makers in both Birmingham and London who produced the pattern 1853 Enfi eld rifle-musket to meet both Confederate and Union as well as domestic and other foreign government demands during the Civil War, the post-1861 London Armoury version was without doubt the finest in terms of quality. The later models were also somewhat unique in physical characteristics as well.

A little history of the London Armoury Company (LAC) along with the reason for its formation is in order to better understand what set these arms apart.
