A view of the musical material culture of a Confederate artillery officer

Camp music in the Civil War helped ease the tedium of being on campaign. Violins, Banjos, Mandolins and Dulcimers were popular musical instruments used by those with the ability to play music for the enjoyment of both civilian and military in America during the Civil War.
