When: Back to Calendar October 19, 2014 (all-day)

The Laurel Home Guard will be hosting the event. It is free to the public but parking and other donations are accepted. Proceeds go to fund the event and continue maintenance and preservation of the Confederate Encampment site which is now listed on the National Historic Landmark Registry. These three days begin with a school day on Friday. We encourage as many as possible to come early and help share living history with the many children who normally attend. We especially would like demonstrators of period crafts, impersonators, and enough people to do a small skirmish for the students. We provide dinner on Friday for those who participate in school day. Saturday and Sunday are filled with numerous activities, memorial service, demonstrations, period church service, barn dance and perhaps a few new activities for the anniversary. Dinner will be served on Saturday night. Sutlers of all varieties are encouraged to apply via the website at www.wildcatreenactment.com. Reenactor preregistration is $5 per person over the age of 10 and deadline is October 1, 2014. Walk ons will be $8 per person. Ladies tea is $2 per ticket and space is limited. Bounties are $75 per largest cavalry unit; $50 per largest infantry unit on each side. Artillery bounty is $50 to the first eight cannons (four for each side). Please make checks or money orders payable to Laurel Home Guard and mail to J. Westerfield, 90 Deborah Lane, Lily, KY 40740. NOTE: this is a new address.
