County Victorian Festival Col. William H. Fulkerson Historic Farm,
Jerseyville. Where the South Meets the North. The 1866
Fulkerson Mansion is the only known Confederate officer’s home
in Illinois and is furnished with antiques and artifacts of the
period, with a special display of the colonel’s personal Civil
War items. All authentic US/CS impressions, civilians, drummer
boys and sutlers welcome. No registration fee. Sutler fee: $35.
Please register by Aug. 15. Amenities include daily breakfast
staples, a great dinner Sunday evening, straw, hay, water, musket
and pistol caps. Bounty to first 12 artillery pieces (full and
three-quarter scale) pre-registered. Experience living history
as you walk the same grounds as Frank and Jesse James, Charles
M. Russell and Col. Fulkerson while enjoying a stagecoach robbery
by the James Gang, Civil War style show, Lincoln’s Gettysburg
Address, great bluegrass music, antiques, working demonstrations
and a reenactment of a “Duel of Honor.” Rare collections on display
include Gen. Lafayette Baker’s Civil War artifacts, General/President
Grant’s family threshing machine, Thomas Lincoln’s blacksmith
anvil and other unique displays. A portion of the proceeds will
